Catamount Arts Residency June 2025
Inaugural Artist in Residence – Catamount Arts, June 2025
I was honored to be the first artist selected for Catamount Arts’ new community-based residency program. My residency focused on fostering creative dialogue and local engagement through printmaking, and creative conversations on grief, care, and altars.

St Johnsbury is a welcoming, engaging, and creative community. Many residents have been impacted by recent flooding and they continue to rebuild, with a sense of purpose and community. It has been a pleasure to meet folks from all walks of life here and to be in community with them for the month of June.
During my residency, I focused on printmaking and experimented with watercolors. This time also coincided with the escalation of national and international unrest. Having space for my creative practice during this time has meant a lot, and these experiences are reflected in my work.
The residency culminated in a solo show, as part of Catamount’s Final Friday series, titled Art as a Tool. The usefulness of art — as a form of resistance, remembrance, vision, and connection — has always been a core theme in my work.
I created two workshops for the community while I was in residency. The first one, at Dog Mountain, was a continuation of my work around public and communal grieving. Folks attended to make their own altars. These participants focused on altars for the loss of their pets. It was a moving and bonding experience.
