Making it all Work: Time Management from the Heart
How do you make a time management plan that meets yours and (most) everyone else’s needs with kind boundaries,
balance, and centering self-care.

At the Root and the Women’s Small Business Program at Mercy Connections are partnering to present the Just Ask Over Dinner Series throughout 2020. Conversations will center around issues/challenges concerning women*-owned small businesses, with thoughtful discussion and resource sharing.

Your relationship with time is one of the most important relationships in your life. We’ll discuss the unique challenges women face around time management, techniques and skills, and resources for managing time and energy effectively, and overcoming procrastination. You’ll leave with new tools for balancing the demands of your work with the other commitments in your life, and know better how to fit in time for YOU so you can feel more joy and success personally and professionally.

Facilitated by Lisa Wood from the Women’s Small Business Program at Mercy Connections.

*This event welcomes transgender individuals and those who do not
identify as part of the gender binary.

Community Engagement: Why it Matters.
Three artists discuss approach and collaboration
Join local artists Alissa Faber, Trish Denton, and jen berger, who all use community engagement in their work, in a discussion about the 'why' & 'how' of community engagement.
Whether you are organzing a campaign, or teaching a class, or creating a project; community engagement can strengthen the work you are doing. You do not need to be an artist to attend.
Alissa Faber is an artisan, designer and educator creating and teaching in Burlington, VT. She facilitates art making and creative thinking with participants ages 3-83 in all types of community spaces. Alissa also leads youth voice workshops statewide to help young people organize to share their stories with policy makers. Creative expression is the link through all Alissa's work whether it is seen in her own sculptures, helping others express themselves through a new creative medium or sharing the power of collective advocacy.

Trish has been committed to the facilitation of community-based projects for 15 years. Originally from Detroit, she moved to Vermont to pursue a BA at Goddard College and went on to receive an advanced degree from Dartmouth College. Trish currently serves as the education coordinator for the The Vermont Folklife Center. With her freelance practice ln Tandem Arts, she works with museums, schools and cultural institutions to produce interdisciplinary projects with a pedagogical twist.
