Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 12 PM – 3 PM
Join Vermont Access to Reproductive Freedom and At the Root for an afternoon of screenprinting
t-shirts and activist art-making! Bring 1-2 items to screenprint: one to keep, and one to donate to Vermont Access for use as merch at upcoming events. Like any perfect Sunday, we'll have donuts, coffee, and mellow tunes to accompany our art-making. Supplies for creating collages, posters, and drawings will also be provided. Admission is sliding-scale ($5-$15). To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to screenprint, please sign up for a timeslot here: https://sevendaystickets.com/events/screenprinting-fundraiser-with-vermont-access-to-reproductive-freedom-3-8-2020 Additionally, we are excited to support the Migrant Justice / Justicia Migrante's Milk With Dignity / Leche Con Dignidad campaign. Artist Mack Budd, on behalf of Migrant Justice, will be setting up a table for postcard writing and printmaking, to send to Hannaford calling for safe and fair working conditions for dairy workers. Read more on their work here: https://migrantjustice.net/milk-with-dignity-campaign. ----- Vermont Access to Reproductive Freedom provides financial assistance to help Vermonters pay for abortion services. In 2019, we provided over $18,000 for callers throughout the state to remove economic barriers to abortion. In 2020, we are aiming to turn no callers away for lack of funding. We are sustained through community donations through events like this one-- we couldn't do this work without you! Can't make it but want to support our work? http://www.vermontaccess.org/ |

Fee: $20 / $10 Museum members and students. All materials are provided
Protests and creative actions often employ signs, banners, and flyers to amplify a message, yet these pieces of ephemera are often discarded after they’ve served their initial purpose.
Likewise, the works in the Fleming’s current exhibitions are intended to foster conversations, debates, and action—yet how do we preserve these reactions?
At the Root’s jen berger will host a printmaking workshop and will provide instruction and materials for creating your RESIST!-inspired linocut.
10% of the proceeds will be donated to local arts activism organizations

Re-constructing Climate Change
CALL TO ARTISTS:
How is climate change affecting you? Your community? The world around you?
What ideas do you have to create positive change?

At the Root has teamed up with 350 VT to creatively address climate change and honor Earth Day.
Make a diorama about the causes, effects, or ways to remedy climate change in our world.
Dioramas can be any size up to 4’x4’.
The final show will be on Thursday April 18th at the Hive on Pine St, from 6-9pm. A representative from
350 VT will be onsite with some experiences from the Climate Walk,
April 5-9 and to share ways you can get involved.
